Marble Download

Download

Marble is available in two flavours: The Marble-KDE and Marble-Qt:

  • Marble-Qt requires only Qt as a dependency. The only drawback is that Marble-Qt doesn't provide the whole functionality of Marble (e.g. the settings dialog or automatic map download via "GHNS")

If you're sitting on a platform where KDE 4 is not installed already this might be the right choice (e.g. for KDE 3.5 users, Gnome users, Windows and Mac OS X).
  • Marble-KDE provides the full experience. It provides all of the user interface and is the recommended flavour.

If you want to download sources, please check our Compiling Marble section.

Marble-Qt

For MS Windows, MacOSX and Maemo (Nokia N900) we provide packages for download. Please provide feedback, as these packages worked for us but we can't ensure that they'll work elsewhere:

Marble is available in the extras repository. Install it conveniently from the Navigation section in the package manager of your N900. Many additional maps can be added from the package manager by installing the Marble Maps package in the Navigation section.

For the Asus EeePC there are packages available at:

Marble-KDE 1.3

To install Marble-KDE we suggest that you obtain Marble and KDE 4.8 from your favourite distributor.

Marble Live CD

There are Live CD ISOs available which are built with SUSE Studio. Some ISOs even come with the full amount of Blue Marble Satellite imagery.

OSGeo Live GIS Disc

OSGeo has published its own Live DVD which ships with Marble and other popular Free Geospatial Software.

Marble 1.2 Source Code

Here's the source code for the tag of this release. Usually this is only useful for packagers. If you're a software developer then we suggest to use the Marble repository for source code access instead.
